Graphic Design Trainee

Nhulundu Health Service together with Apprentices and Trainees Queensland is seeking expressions of interest for a full time Graphic Design Trainee based at Nhulundu Health Service in Gladstone.

About Us

Gladstone Region Aboriginal and Islander Community Controlled Health Service (GRAICCHS) trading as Nhulundu Health Service, is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service delivering comprehensive primary health care, in home aged care and community support services.

The Role

As a Graphic Design Trainee you will be be involved in supporting and learning a range of processes, including:  creating on-brand visual collateral that reflects our vision, purpose, values and strategy. This will see you working across digital, print, packaging, manuals, display materials, social media, websites and video/photoshoots, with accountability for concept and design of assets.

You will be enrolled in a Certificate III in Prepress Graphic Design Production – ICP31420 which will give you an understanding and experience in a range of competencies. You must be committed to completing the Traineeship, which involves participating in all aspects of on-the-job training as well as completing the course requirements with our nominated Training Provider.

About You

Our ideal candidate will be able to support our brands and bring them to life in a consistent, innovative and creative way and deliver high quality creative solutions. Reporting to the Graphic Design lead, you will work with collaboratively and cross-functionally across print and digital.

Desirable Attributes:

  • A passionate creative, flexible, and hard-working person who enjoys working collaboratively and sharing ideas
  • Familiarity with Adobe packages including InDesign, Photoshop and Illustration is advantageous but not essential
  • Competency with MS Office Suite
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Enthusiastic and proactive approach towards design, and have a keen interest in industry trends and best practices
  • Excellent attention to detail and effective time management and organisational skills
