(Casual positions up to 30 hours per week based in Gladstone)

  • Providing in home care services to our Indigenous elderly

Gladstone Region Aboriginal and Islander Community Controlled Health Service (GRAICCHS) trading as Nhulundu Health Service, is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service delivering an integrated, comprehensive primary care health service to the whole Gladstone community.

GRAICCHS provides bulk billing GP services, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health, chronic disease management, antenatal and postnatal care, immunisation programs, women’s and men’s health, health promotion and prevention programs, aged care and community support service functions.

The Aged Care Team coordinates and provides in home care and out of home day activity services to eligible clients in the Gladstone Region.

We are looking for dedicated and caring people to fill a number of casual vacancies.

 

A competitive casual hourly rate is available, plus other benefits.  There may be a requirement to work some morning and weekend shifts.

 

You will

  • provide direct care to the eligible frail aged and disabled members of the community in their own home.
  • be involved with tasks such as showering, toileting, dressing and personal care as well as domestic assistance, social support, meal preparation and shopping.
  • be required to perform in accordance with Client Care plans, the Community Care Common Standards and Policies and Procedures.
  • Complete daily/weekly documentation. Recording all instances of planned and unplanned service delivery

 

Key Requirements include

  • Certificate III or IV in Aged Care/ Individual Support or other relevant qualification and a current First Aid Certificate – preferred ( Training support can be arranged for eligible Indigenous Trainees)
  • Ability to communicate effectively and sensitively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander persons.
  • Current C Class Drivers License (Qld) and own “private” reliable vehicle
  • Satisfactory Police Check with no disclosures that preclude you from employment
