Aged Care Support Worker (Agnes Water, Miriam Vale & Bororen)

Aged Care Support Workers

(Casual positions up to 30 hours per week based in Agnes Water, Miriam Vale & Bororen)

  • Providing in home care services to our Indigenous elderly


Gladstone Region Aboriginal and Islander Community Controlled Health Service (GRAICCHS) trading as Nhulundu Health Service, delivers an integrated, comprehensive primary care health service to the Fitzroy community.

The Aged Care Team coordinates and provides in home care and out of home day activity services to eligible clients in the Fitzroy Region.

We are looking for dedicated and caring people to fill a number of casual vacancies in Agnes Water, Miriam Vale & Bororen.


A competitive casual hourly rate is available, plus other benefits.  There may be a requirement to work some morning and weekend shifts.


You will

  • provide direct care to the eligible frail aged and disabled members of the community in their own home.
  • be involved with tasks such as showering, toileting, dressing and personal care as well as domestic assistance, social support, meal preparation and shopping.
  • be required to perform in accordance with Client Care plans, the Community Care Common Standards and Policies and Procedures.
  • Complete daily/weekly documentation. Recording all instances of planned and unplanned service delivery


Key Requirements include

  • Certificate III or IV in Aged Care/ Individual Support or other relevant qualification and a current First Aid Certificate – preferred 
  • Ability to communicate effectively and sensitively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander persons.
  • Current C Class Drivers License (Qld) and own “private” reliable vehicle
  • Satisfactory Police Check with no disclosures that preclude you from employment
